Hi all ,these forums have been great thanks for all those that contributed..noticed pas belt was badly worn so have gone about replacing..removing hex bolt on shoulder for aux shaft has been nightmare..so need to remove pulley wheel to get to it..seems very tight ..is the clip thing meant to come out?

The pulley is held on with just a nut and a couple of washers. Once undone the pulley slides off. Unless I'm mistaken, your image looks like a stripped piece of thread is stopping the pulley from coming off.

The Woodruff key may be sticking

You will need to tap gently, turn the crank so the pulley turns 90deg, tap again, ad infinitum

Don't rush

This does beg the question: why are you removing the pulley?

It's not obvious to me what you are going to do once it is off
