Hi, not been in for a while, S3 is going well execpt for slight manifold leak, which I will fix sometime. The wife is actually quite liking the S, but hates the mirrors (S1 floppy type) and won't back it out of the garage until I change them. The real S3 mirrors look good, does anyone know where to buy, and if you can wire the electrics in easily? Or any other suggestions for aftermarket.

Thanks

Nic

Mirrors

I just lifted this link from another post by Hoover33 so can't take any credit - just the messenger.

I have just fitted Mazda MX5 mk1 mirrors to my S3 which not only look great but also actually allow you to see behind you unlike the citreon ones, does involve a bit of fibre glassing and paint though however worth it IMHO.

This is about the cheapest place I found CX mirrors when I was looking a while ago.

About £30-40 each (complete), these are new and less than the cost of an alternative non-standard mirror like the Audi TT ones I had on my S which IIRC were about £60 each!

LeeBee does an adapter to avoid having to modify the door. Trying to get some from him myself. Last time I checked they were a bit pricey... maybe if the run is more than one the price might be cheaper. I have some piccies from him if you're interested.

I've fitted Ford Fiesta Mk2 mirrors to my S2 which suit the car.
Paid £10 for the pair from a brakers yard. There are 2 types one has a manual remote mirror ajuster, this type may not fit. The other type fits over the hole left by the TVR ones.Make sure you get the rubber gasket, that fits between the mirror and the bodywork as this is the template for drilling the new fixing holes. You will also have to replace the fixing studs with longer ones.

Just ordered myself a mirror surround from OZ Computers - I've been looking for that part for over a year now!

Anyone know - I assume I can just take my paint code (Cobalt Blue) to Halfords and get touch-up spray paint? Unless anyone knows of a better source online?
