I'm having trouble finding any info on the valet function for my car. Many magazine reviews say it has the valet function. Does it truly have a valet function, is it standard or an option?

More important is how do you enable it?

I have the owner's manual PDF, but searching it only finds one instance of "valet": that result is "valet vehicle" under Pre-delivery Inspection. That's no help at all.

Any info on this? Thanks.

abanks

My 2020 DB11 doesn’t have a Valet function. I don’t think it’s an option either.

Interesting. Perhaps that might be why it's not well documented? biggrin I'm curious as to why CARandDRIVER and a few others claim that it does have this feature.

Do you have a V12?

Yes, V12 coupe. Would that matter? Maybe.

How do they implement the valet function? I have a 2013 Audi S5 with APR Stage II ECU software. They promised a valet function but couldn't deliver because there wasn't enough room in the storage area for the new air-fuel mixture curves. So, they had to add a whole new set of curves for the valet function. This would make V8 vs. V12 relevant due to ECU differences.

Is this how AM has done it in the past?

I think they may have misinterpreted the Aston Martin instructions, as this video mentions using the plastic key for valet but also says that both keys operate identically - they just suggest this will prevent damage to the glass key. If you haven't seen it already, have a look:

I'm just guessing, but I wonder if C&D heard this and assumed that the DB11 had a dedicated valet key or function, as some other cars have. In my experience of a physical valet (or service) key it opened and started the car but would not allow access to the boot or glovebox - not that the latter matters in a DB11 biggrin
