Well it took 2 weeks of calls but i finally got rid of Virgin broadband today.

Awful service (Wifi hub rubbish , wouldn't give me a booster) , awful bandwidth in reality ( i was on the 350mb package, lucky to see that speed once a week, more like sub 100mb most of the time and worse at weekends, hub needs rebooting regularly as it lost signal on a weekly basis .

Their customer service is a joke. Utter Joke. Every link on your account page directs you to new offers/ change of package upgrades, but no way to downgrade or cancel the service. Having to resort to contacting their corporate account teams, getting a 'special' SMS service to book a callback (which never worked) - it's just rubbish.

Have spent about 8 hours on the phone in total waiting to connect to someone in the disconnections dept, then they offered me £3.50 a month discount ( they put their prices up last month by, yes you guessed it, £3.50) .

Could not recommend at all. I thought BT were bad, Virgin are worse (so they are better at something).

already have Three 5G broadband hub. Seeing a good 150-180Mb/s most of the time. Hammered it for a week or so with work/media/3 people's browsing and videos, added all of my numerous smart devices (Sonos/HIve ), no problem. Great Wifi hub too, strong signal all over the house.

£14/month for 6 months, thereafter £29 for unlimited data.

Compared with Virgin at £55.50 a month for speeds rarely attained, poor wifi and awful customer service.
Night and day.

I agree with the customer service aspect, but had no issues with the service.

Average speeds @ time of day (average over 3 months):

General report:

Options are limited to 30mbps BT (and their re-sellers) or Three/EE 4G (no 5g here). EE 4G is capable of high speeds here (180mbps on some days), but the speed varies greatly day to day.

Speed was one of my main contentions with them (sic). My first 5-6 months were ok, since then it was pretty unreliable from a speed perspective. Why pay over the odds for something i wasn't getting etc.

I'd get advertised speeds rarely. Rebooting hub (at their suggestion) fixed issue for a day or so, then it would drop like a stone, to the extent that my Hive Hub kept going offline.

It's as much the fact that they really don't give a st when you speak to technical or customer service departments. If you can get through to them of course.
