We have had some f15's zooming around above the house today. Quite low and loud.

They just returned and I can honestly say I've never seen them so low. So, so loud.

They were over a field near my house and were swooping really low and slow. Gave it the gas too when they climbed and the house shook.

I'm near Spalding if that helps.

I'm pretty sure they are f15's as they sound different to the typhoons. I can see why they buzz enemies like that. Scary sound.

Strangely i was driving north and saw a usaf fire engine with blue lights on going south on the a1 earlier it was maybe north of Stamford. About 2pm.

It was an odd site to see but i was heading north. I did think about the family going shopping in an ambulance at the time.

I wonder if its related?

Nah. smile

We are used to military stuff hooning around above the house. But these were really, really low tonight.

Is there any way we can find out how low they got? They looked really close to the ground over the field near our house. Could see red and green lights quite brightly on the aircraft.

Will keep an eye out for any news.

We had one crash in the vicinity of a nearby village around six or seven years ago.

Also had an Apache land in a field with engine problems either last year or the year before.

There are flying low to observe and deter any non-COVID compliant social gatherings, usually operate from RAF Luton.

The Apache was a hydraulic pump failure, I think.

We're in Moulton Chapel and they were buzzing around here earlier as well. Was quite the shock when usually the most exciting thing that happens around here is somebody putting their bins out on the wrong day!

Ah yes, not far from me. They have been especially active, low and loud today.

To echo what you said above, yes we're all used to them buzzing about here but today really has been more than noticeably lower and louder.

Our local rag had a story about the RAF doing some flying at low level over Honington last week, and showed a photo of an F-15...
Back in the early 80s when the first RAF Tornado crashed near Sandringham, the rag showed a photo of a Tornado of a type that crash. It was a photo of a Jag.

And people wonder why I haven’t bought a paper since the early 90s!

Nah, Canberra wasn’t up so it couldn’t be them.

In fairness, would you have been able to see the Canberra at it's usual operating height of 100,000?
