Part of the garage, where the bikes are stored, is becoming a utility, I don’t want the car / bikes outside and I think I’ve got enough space to park down the sides if I can get close enough to the walls, etc.

Has anyone used one of these dolly things?

Something like that, just seems a bit to ‘easy’ although I’m assuming you need a perfect floor rather than the rubber tiled floor I’ve got.

I’ve got one of these:

I was sceptical how good it would be for the price, but it’s excellent.

I paid 100 quid, and it’s superb. Substantially built and feels like it will last.

I’ve got a concrete floor, which isn’t perfectly flat or smooth, and it copes just fine. It’s almost effortless to move the ‘bike around on it, getting it into the right spot easily.

I saw other, similar looking ones, but were very different in quality. The Clarke one has double wheels and the cheaper versions have singles.

I have a constands lift, its great for pushing the bike right up to the wall, also really good for cleaning the bike as you can rotate both the wheels freely with it up in the air. I got it for about £50 second hand on ebay and found the adaptor for my bike for about £20 second hand too. its really well built and one of the best purchases I have made.

I have this constands one

It works great, I just ride my bike into the garage onto it, and use it as a stand most of the time. Other bike is on a fixed front wheel style stand. Its Useful in my large single garage as occasionally I want access via loft ladder to room above or sometimes need to fit more bikes in. Just release the brake and push the bike around on it.

I use one that just supports the stand and back wheel, the bike is pretty manoeuvrable with the front wheel on the ground, very useful bit of kit.
