Another qnap nas question - music streaming
Discussion
Hello
I have installed music station on my qnap 453 nas, but for whatever reason I cannot figure out how to get my ubuntu rhythmbox player to connect to it and play the music.. with my old nas, Rhythmbox just saw it as an itunes server.
Would someone give me some pointers please? I don't want to plug speakers into the nas itself, i want to stream the music files across the LAN.
Thanks
Mike

I thought there as an iTunes specific way - there's DLNA through both the Multimedia Console and also from settings -> applications.
Must admit I've not used it as I have a SONOS system and that is happy with SMB shares which seem to be more reliable (II had twonky issues at one stage).
Music Station itself I thought was just to play direct from the NAS (i.e. through a web browser on a PC, app on a phone/tablet).
Having a quick look at mine - I think DNLA through Multimedia Station is now the way to stream - I do this for video.
