I am planning on putting a car ramp in the garage this year, is storing a 911 a bad idea on either a 2 post?

A 4 poster is much easier for just driving on and not faffing with the swing arms and jacking points

Thanks I hadn't heard of Strongman, any thoughts on the stresses imposed by a 2 post on the chassis and suspension?

I bought a Parklift around 10 years ago. Works well for storing the lesser used car!!

Or, are there any 2posts that you can add “running boards to”? I’d personally not want wheels hanging for any period of time.

Love it. The cars (Speedster especially), the lift....perfect! I’d like to do something similar with a 911 over a Defender 90 but not sure I have the height it’s like y to need. Might need to get my tape measure out!

Top parking - how the hell did you get them on that - am I missing something ? smile

Edited to add - ignore me - just noticed the second door - thought you were some sort of parking genius!

My wife's Evoque does fit under; and it does actually go up another 150mm ; but I'd have to get a tape measure out before trying anything taller

Great pair!

I'm interested in buying the 3.3m tall version of that lift from their triple parking lift system

How is the quality?

I've had a double for 13yrs. Great product and great customer service.

It's been in a door-less barn for the last 9yrs or so and for a good 8yrs of that wasn't operated, with a car on top and one underneath. When I came to use it I had a few hassles with it tripping the power, but the guys at internbv helped diagnose it and it was sorted easily in the end (I'd had a new consumer unit in the intervening years and the type of RCBO I had was too sensitive to motors of this size).

Very much recommended.

Thank you - useful to know an Evoque will fit - good to have a reference point. Much appreciated.

4 post to store them 2 post to work on them. Make sure that you have good concrete if you're planning on a 2 post.

Thanks that's what I suspected, didn't really want to sacrifice the space a 4 post would take up, but looks like the only option.

Two posts actually take more space. You need the posts further apart in order to kick the legs under the car. You also usually need more head room.

I've had an Automotech 4 post lift for about 10 years now....never had a problem with it but by christ it was a task putting together...not technically there was only about 6 bits but it was so heavy each lift platform was about 250kg's and the which frames where about the same ......LOL

You big girl.

I got all bar the ramp with the hydraulic ram under it together myself, and I have arms like a sparrow's legs smile

(Health and Safety would not have been amused though - the whole thing would make a 20min comedy skit).
