My Odometer has packed up. Fairly sure it’s not the sender because for a while with a push of the journey reset button it would start counting again.

It’s a replacement job, my question is due to the fact a replacement is an LCD screen for the miles does the ECU store the mileage or when I fit a new one will it read 0 miles?

Pack it up and send it off to SpeedyCables. They'll refurb it for about £80. I've had all my gauges done over the past few years. They come back like new.

They are however, incredibly slow. :-(

Speedy Cables took six months to do my speedo. Next door is Carbont instruments. Essentially the same company, but may be a bit quicker.

is it that is sticks when the last two numbers get to Zero? A sharp rap on the glass jolts them into working

The odo has died on my 27 year old G Wagen.

They quoted £160 - £180 to fix it and wanted 8 - 10 weeks!
