Posting used rechargeable batteries sold on eBay

Is it safe/possible/legal to post used NIMH batteries sold on eBay?

It would be from Northern Ireland to elsewhere in the UK so presumably it be by air freight.

Not by Royal Mail you can’t. You can post them if new and in original packaging but used is a no no.

Yes but there are lots of batteries for sale on eBay and I've received batteries which have been air freighted hence my question
