Spare speedo I could borrow anyone???
Discussion
The speedo's packed up and I'm getting the sensor replaced but sod's law says the speedo will have to go for rebuild. I beleive the turnaround is around 4-6 weeks.
As the car is used daily I need something to fill the hole whilst it being rebuilt.
Car is a 1997 Griff, white dial with silver bezel but anything will do, ideally working but anything will do.
I am just seeing if anyone has one but will know if I need one later next week.
Desperate as usual.
Any help much appreciated.

Hi FFG,
I've got to do the same thing. Out of interest what's wrong with yours?
Mine seems to jam at around 80mph and will sit there regardless of speed until I repeatedly press the mileometer reset, at which point it'll drop to where it should be.
I am going to try and get the speedo out this weekend however have been putting it off for ages as I don't really want to be without the car for 3 weeks (speedy cables quoted turnaround - although hopefully as said above it'll be quicker).
Out of interest how hard is it to take a speedo to bits to have a look? Am I best just leaving it to the experts?

Nothing works - odo, trip or speedo. The odo packed up at 29999.5 and I managed to fix that with a toffee hammer but now it's dead.
I need to do it asap or I'm going to end up with a speeding fine as I have no idea what speed I'm doing - just keeping up with everyone else.
Personally, I think taking it out is as much as you can do and leave the rest to the experts.
The gauges are known to be sh1t and I would have thought the dealers would hold a spare to "borrow".
