Seagate Hard Drive Issue
Discussion
We've got a back up to a back up hard drive. Like a last resort type of thing.
When I plug it into the television, it sees what's on there and I can access it. No problem.
When it's plugged into two laptops, it says that F:\ is not accessible. "The parameter is incorrect".
I've plugged it back in the telly and is still ok.
Any ideas?

probably the drive software corrupt -
Id be ensuring that your back up is ok, and getting that backed up. Once had a back up fail at same time as the laptop was nicked out the car... sore lesson learned that was... never again...
Always have two backups running with the all company and personal data that i dont want to lose, Im in process of getting cloud storage sorted as we speak too...
trouble with cloud is that its out your control lol.... but then again drives... they have issues.
look at solid state aswell as a way of reducing risks less to go wrong, but costs a lot.

Did you reformat the drive when it was plugged into the TV? The Sony page warns that an external drive can only be seen by he TV:

There are a few ways you can reformat it in Windows 10 to give you a wiped clean drive to use again. Either use Disk Management or at a push the Diskpart utility in the command line. Both should see the drive fine and allow you to wipe the partition(s).
I tried the disk management but it doesn't see the drive at all. When I plug it in, the progress bar steadily scrolls across green but F Drive never gets recognised.

Get another new drive
Seems that way Sure if you want to try after replacing it but personally I just wouldn't risk it
I haven't looked back to check but I have pretty much always had samsung TV's and found they work well with a USB drive with files on it to playback OR a designated drive as a recorder / timeshift device
LG TV's less so a friend has had 2 drives corrupt after having had files on them then the drives plugged into the LG TV's
He feels the TV's are "bit rough on them"
