Hi All,
I'm new to 911 ownership so go easy :-)

I have had a small leak develop. Slows down when the engine is cold. On the left hand side, hopefully the pics identify it. The pic with the blue components isn't my car but a photo found to identify the part. The red arrow shows where its coming from. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Stu.

Hi,
I've been doing a bit of research and it looks like the LHS cam chain tensioner housing washer that has corroded, is failing. Does that sound about right?
If it is this, what should I be looking at cost wise to sort?
Thanks,
Stu.

The washer costs a couple of pounds at most.

Had it replaced at a service free by OPC. Just paid for the washer.

Its the timing chain tensioner. If brave can undo the nut and change the washer in less than a minute.

Some say engine needs to be locked to prevent mis timing. I erred on side of caution and let dealer do it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm about 8 months from a service so I've booked it in to be done. Even the garage said that it was a 99p washer! I'd rather get it done properly than mess my timing etc up.
