Info on companies that have had Govt help during Covid?
Discussion
Currently dealing with a company that is unlikely to be able to deliver on a contract due to Covid, given the situation its clearly not ideal for either party and obviously lots of people are financially effected due to government restrictions.
As it is highly likely the contract will not be fulfilled due to Covid restrictions and hence frustrated there is now the beginning of a discussion regarding liability / refunds on any payments made. We do not believe that the level of charge being indicated is fair given that no services have been delivered as yet and we do not believe any purchases for the specific contract have been made as yet.
It feels like the company is attempting to recover what they can from us to aid their cashflow (as stated at the beginning of this post we appreciate it is hard for many at this time and whilst we understand their business may be under threat we are not receiving anything in return for our money in this instance). We believe they will have been able to secure funding for business support and likely also Furloughed a number of staff.
Is there any public information available on support companies have actually taken up from the government as we feel this will be of useful input into the discussion ie. are they trying to double recover costs for the period where they cannot deliver their services in part or full?

There is a Central Govt database of grants that have been given out to companies. However AIUI
1. This is primarily to stop people/companies "double dipping" ie claiming multiple grants from different departments.
2. It's not available to the Public for data protection and commercial sensitivity reasons

Whether or not the company has received Govt assistance isn't that irrelevant? Surely what matters is your contract with them including what payment schedule was agreed? It sounds like you want to be able to say "we appreciate that contractually we owe you X pounds at this stage but we can see you've had a Govt loan so we're not going to pay what we're contractually obliged to as you can cover it with the money from the Govt.
(Genuine question not trying to be "that guy").
