G05 X5 30d MSport

Hi folks, after having my RR Velar stolen a few weeks back (driven off my driveway by a couple of little sh**s just before 8 in the evening on a Sunday!) I am now getting into an X5. Very excited about it to be honest, going for the 30d msport with tech and visibility packs in mineral white.

Looking for any tips or advice in advance of getting the car as well as any experiences from exiting owners.

Haven’t actually test driven the car given the virus etc.

Sorry I can’t provide advice but we did rent a 5 series to go see a client and got bumped up to a new x5 30d. It was fantastic to drive all the way from Manchester to the south coast. We’ve got a disco sport and will be chopping in for a velar/x5 to really keen to hear your feedback after you’ve had it a few weeks!

We've got one coming 1st March; 30D also

I did manage to get a test drive.
Definite step up from the F15 (which we've had from new for 4 years)

lot more tech & autonomous assistance.

Not sure I like the dash yet - suppose it will grow on me !

Ride is much better than the comparable F15 ; guess the air makes the most difference.

Shame they don't do the std panoramic roof anymore, just the £2K+ LED festooned roof

In December 2020 I went from long term ownership of FF Range Rover to G05 M50d . I was a little bit worried that the X5 would not be as good . However it's better to drive and far more stable on cross country roads , nice sharp steering and on air suspension and 22" low profile tyres the ride is good as well . If there is a downside its tyre noise on some concrete motorways .

I’ve had my 3.0d since July. It’s superb. Ride quality is superb on air suspension. The engine is a peach. I previously had a G20 330d for a year and the X5 actually feels quicker with the same engine. Lastly, the tech is awesome. You won’t be disappointed.
