Greetings from Florida. So I am dealing with some electrical failures on my 03 Vantage Volante. What doesn't work: everything on the wipers column, indicators, driver/passenger windows, clock, seat warmers, stereo, a/c and blower.. everything else works! 😅(Rear small windows with the softtop, horns, headlights, dome lights, locks, fog light).

In an attempt to troubleshoot these issues, I left my battery disconnected overnight. It didn't fix anything and I now have a new issue which is puzzling me: the driver's side window drops by an inch or so every time I open it. It's now completely down and obviously still doesn't roll up so I lost my window. Any ideas..? Where do I start?

Probably best to start with AMOC as they seem to be more into the DB7 than PH.

Good luck.

Good luck.
It seems that it is a paid message board and I can't even search the board to see if it would be worth the 100 GBP to join.

It seems to be a new change since Sept 2020. Can't even search through old postings to see if anyone has had similar issues.

Just for info, from the AMOC forum:-

AMOC said:
As AMOC put in a new membership system, access to the Forum will be changed.
AMOC members will have full access.
Non-members will have limited access that allows them to see examples of what is inside but that is all.

AMOC as an organisation provides member benefits in a number of ways;

Publications
Membership of AMOC
Social via Areas and centrally organised events
The Forum
The Shop

Every member probably derives their benefits in a different blend of these. Some are happy with (say) just the publications. Others with just the Area Meetings. Others ascribe considerable value to the Forum which is an invaluable source of information and help to Aston owners. It is run by the Club and many members give considerable amounts of time to putting information on it. We may, in the future, actually put more organised effort into it to better present and index what is there.

What has happened to date is that people have joined the Club and then, when their Membership lapses, have continued to use the Forum. This has not been policed but will now be done. We have simply advised those who are not paying Membership fees that this will change when the new IT system comes in.

The intention with the new IT upgrade is not to blank people off from the Forum completely but to restrict what Non-Members can see and encourage them to join the Club to get the benefits.
The Forum would still be a marketing tool but, if people want to access its value then they need to join the Club and pay like the rest of us.
There was quite a degree of discussion over this change when it was being mooted

I had a quick look through DB7 Electrical issues and I couldn't see exactly the problem Gavan describes, but there were various threads with vehicle partial electrical issues that, in summary, variously suggested:- battery; a large multi connector at the just in front of the drivers door (RHD) hidden behind the carpet; Relay 7; dreaded relays(!); the PCB on the back of the starter switch. A search for "Wiper column switch not working" gave no meaningful results. Not much help, I'm afraid

Thank you LTP! Very kind of you to search through the AMOC for me.

Well to provide an update, I noticed that the fuse Amps in the passenger footwell were all wrong.. I replaced them according to the manual and the clock has been working as well as the blinking red light which I assume is the PATS. I also lost the check engine light though it still flashes while driving which I believe indicates a misfire. Still no windows, wipers, indicators, a/c or stereo

The red flashing light is the immobiliser. If the check engine light either does not come on or intermittently comes on, replace the relay for it.
In the i6 manual its called the ignition load relay and its in the fuse box behind the knee panel on the right hand side on right hand drive cars. Not sure if it is the same layout on LHD cars (check your handbook). When my check engine light did not come on but all the other warning lights did, it was this relay. Its a standard relay readily available.
There is another called the auxiliary relay in the same row which controls various circuits. I would imagine the Vantage is much the same.

See if you can contact a moderator and ask for access as a guest. I did years ago, not sure if its still possible.

I have an update.

The electrical failures do seem to be due to a faulty microswitch or relay (I've heard it be called both) behind the Start button. Tapping the button seems to have brought the A/C, wipers and a few other components back to life though they still go out intermittently.

The annoying new issue that I have had since last week after having to tow the car from the mechanic back to my house is an Immobilizer fault code 16 which is preventing me from starting the engine. I have replaced the battery in my attempt to troubleshoot the Immobilizer. I understand that PATS Code 16 indicates "SCP communication error". Service manual says "Check wiring of SCP link and PCM configuration/type" or "Invalid PCM data". I'm not sure where this could be coming from.. any suggestions as to how to resolve this without having to tow to the dealer?
