best tent

Now that everyone is back from le Mans and a few festivals, does anyone have any tent recomendations. Ideally a 4 man - to sleep 2 comfortably, small to stow, easy to erect, good quality and well priced.

Try Argos - theirs are cheap and did well in comparative tests. My Argos single man tent is really good.

has to be millets they have a great cheap range - i got one of these:

for glasto and lived like a king and avoided the floods although u might want the next size up.

if you want a decent tent, look at Terra Nova or North Face.

For a decent, slightly better value (probably more what you're looking for) look for a Vango.

A friend recently bought a tent from tescos for 50 quid and it was astonishingly good vfm and much better than the tent I got from ebay thinking it was a bargain at 80 quid the w/e just gone when it rained and blew as we sat in a field

Our first Le Mans and first ever tent purchase. Lidl (aldi) special. £60, 8 man mother of a tent. Lasted the trip too, might even get a second outing out of it! In my eyes, no point getting a real good one unless it's really needded as a £500 tent getting busted is not a good thing!

Votes from me for Vango for a bog standard but durable tent or Terra Nova for lighweight mountain tents.

I've had a couple of Vango tents, the first survived 5 years of abuse (some of which doesn't bear repeating - the first time I used it someone threw up in it) and the second is still going strong after 3 or so years.

Khyber make some crackers, 20 secs to put up for the litte ones, 2 minutes for the really big ones. Not cheap though.

The tent that impressed me the most at Glasto though was a Quecha one may mate had, literally get it out of the bag and its up. Spring loaded affair, the way forward.

Another Vango supporter here. We paid £85 for our 500 including two sleeping bags. It is supposed to sleep five. We can stand up in the sleeping area which was a big bonus.

Another vote for the 45 quid Argos special. Ours has now done 3 festivals and survived some severe river abuse at Glasto this year.

10 minutes to put up, packs very small and only weighs 5.5Kg. If you wreck it, get another!
