VX DIAG VCX NANO anyone familiar with them?

I fancy one for GM Tech2win to diagnose etc on a 1999 Corvette C5.
I’m not a great computer person if the truth be told but instead of better understanding what’s required to get up and running (and try to gauge how I’ll manage) I’ve become even more confused.
Anyone know if they tend to come with the necessary software? Some seem to be listed with links to download the software and other listings seem to comment about paying for the necessary software. Yet you seem to choose what you want when ordering.
Is setting up the thing less confusing than it seems or is it a potential PITA? I know you need Windows 7 32 or XP by the looks of it for my required Tech2win.
