Use MS Teams at work just via a headset which works fine just for me. In a few weeks me and the Mrs both need to attend online teams meetings for a 10 week course.

What's the best way to do this "multi user" Teams from our end? First I was thinking of just getting a desk mic (have speakers) but then I'm sure I've been on calls where someone has that setup and you just get your own voice fed back to you via the speakers and mic?

Is there a way to run a headset each? Any better options? Don't want to rely on mobiles as want tobe able to use full size screen ideally. Cheers.

Dave.

Does your pc have separate mic/speaker ports?

If so, a desktop mic and a 3.5mm splitter for two sets of headphones would (should) work.

Conference speaker like a Jabra Speak avoids the feedback thing, they filter the speaker audio from the mic.

Although give it a try with a desk mic if you have one, Teams has AEC (acoustic echo cancellation) to mitigate it, it mostly means it'll go to half duplex (ie only speaking or listening, not both).

Headset setups that do what you describe are pretty niche and used for things like training call centre people.

Isn't it easier to simply sit in separate rooms?

I use Teams, Skype, Chime, Zoom all day everyday. By far and away the worst for feedback is Teams. In fact, the only one where feedback has been an issue was Teams. I used to use web cam microphone and PC speakers for everything with out issue. That was until I got on a call with Teams and it was unusable so now I am using a headset.

Do you want to be in the same room and on camera sitting together? If so, Polycom CX100 USB speakerphone is a good bet

I use the webcam microphone and separate PC speakers and have no feedback problems on Teams.

Same here. No issues at all on Teams with this setup.

It is a very well documented issue with teams so my advice is to test before relying on a single set up.

I have a Sennheiser SP20 puck speakerphone setup that was built for Skype and Teams and has zero feedback issues and works brilliantly (and has done for the last 2yrs with daily use in the 4-5hrs band for 12mths)

Thanks all for the replies so far.

Yes want to be in same room if possible ideally. I think the pc might have a separate input to output so headphones each and a single mic could work.

Interested in the camera with a mic - thought that might do the same and pick up sound from speakers? If not I'd be interested in suggestions of models to look at as I do need to get a camera as well but thought that was the easy bit.

It looks like others on here have had more success than my team have regarding feedback so just test before you go live. My own set up is a Logitech 920 camera/mic and Bose CineMate speakers. Speakers at the bottom of the monitor and camera at the top. I could not separate more.

My team are running off HP Laptops and have similar issues. My solution is to use AirPod Pros or a simple plantronics headset. AirPod Pros come with their own challenge which means the sound quality is reduced if you use them as microphones as well so I have set up the airpod using the camera Mic which works well.

I do have a Plantronics puck which I should try based on the feedback here.

Looking at the pc I think there is only one headset port. The other I believe is a line out port? Its a micro dell d10u, very basic but I only use it to rdp into the office.

So this might force me down the conference speaker or camera with mic route I think.

Why not just mute yourself when not talking? If you are an attendee I would imagine the presenter will be doing a majority of the talking anyway

^^^^ is the correct answer. Everything else is "yeah, it might work, might not". This is by far the the easiest way to guarantee a good conference experience.
