Ordered new Speed Triple. Anyone interested in getting one?
Discussion
It seems perfect from the write-ups. Triumph through and through looks. 1160cc of massively updated triple yowl. 177.5 bhp to be getting on with. Top notch running gear. My deposit is down. It's a must have for me. I had an early 1050 Speed and this new one is night and day better. Really looking forward to this.
Tail tidy and a decent exhaust system and we'll be there!

If I hadn't just spent a load of money on my current bike and it was still stock, then I'd have chopped it in early for one of these for sure, dependent on the test ride that is.
Out of all the current new, and year or 2 old bikes to choose from right now, the new Speed Triple is the only one that I have really gravitated towards, that includes the new Tuono, S1000R, Superduke, Ducati Street fighter, whatever Kawasaki's monstrosity is called.
Without having ridden one yet, it looks to me as though Triumph have nailed it with this bike.

I really fancy one BUT no way will I order until I've had a test ride. But if it works for you more power to you
The specs and aesthetics say it all for me. Hugely more powerful than the last model, engine all new and modern, way lighter than before, great looks, top spec shocks and brakes, i love the fact the engine now goes to 11+ K rpm also, good going for such big pistons.
I'm in, what is there not to like? !

Yep it's a tour de force really, everything's as much as 99.99% of buyers really need.I'm in, what is there not to like? !

So much for buying a Goldwing
I take it you realised you're not that old after all?
43. The Wing is staying as it's a fantastic bike for the reasons it was built.

You are but a child!

Nah, good on you for having the guts / taste / ability to have two such diverse bikes!

I'll let you know, after I've ridden one
I've now read up and ridden enough bikes to find that I can't trust reviews
Be it the noise, the lack of character, the position etc
Must admit they are a tempting prospect and OP, top man for getting in early doors, but agree I would hold fire until a test ride.

None of the Journo’s have actually ridden one yet and at the moment there is just a spec sheet, vids (from Triumph) and Triumph word that it’s the best thing since sliced bread – they ain’t gonna say it’s a sh!t bike are they.

Triumph don't exactly have a recent history of making poor bikes do they?
For the most part, each new bike they release pretty much nails the brief they set out to hit doesn't it?
I'm a bit like you in that I would never buy a bike without test riding it myself.
BUT.
If I was in the market for another bike like this right now I reckon I'd be ordering sight unseen right now too.

Concur, Triumph do no have a history recently of making poor bikes and usually the promo vids do usually match how the bike rides, feels and looks.Triumph don't exactly have a recent history of making poor bikes do they?

But I (personal and subjective opinion) would still reserve judgement until a test ride and seeing one in the flesh. But that is just me as 14-15k is lot of cash (to me anyway) to spunk on a new bike with riding one, let alone seeing one in the flesh.
