Hi

(windows 10 on a lenovo Yoga laptop)

Re: pointer to switch off inbuilt camera completely?

I have a malfunctioning in built camera on my laptop ("Easycam") - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. The fact it is a hardware malfunction is recognised by Lenovo and whenever I can ship they will fix. I'm running an external webcam which works fine with zoom etc

However, I have to use WebEx occasionally for work and webex sees both webcams, and then decides to flit between the two of them causing a major headache (I lecture online).

Is there a way I could turn off the inbuilt laptop [permanently]??

Much apppreciated thanks

Have you tried disabling it in device manager (on the windows key and "x" menu) ?

I'm not an expert but does Device Manager > Cameras > Integrated camera (or similar > Right-click > Disable work?

It may be possible to disable the camera in the BIOS. Depends on the model, usually the business ranges will have this feature as some organisations won't allow devices with cameras as part of their security policies.
