Would also give this 4/10, didn't really care for the families predicament as it was completely self inflicted.
Like World War Z it fell down by focusing on th unlikable characters rather than showing the wider picture, the whole every good guy was cast as BAME was a bit trying as well as it took much of the suspense out of the scenes.

I thought that was pretty dire.Would have been better to end at the impact with them sheltering near bunks... then show 3 years later with Butler looking over some architect plans, with a half wrecked town somewhere in Greenland in the background, doing what he was doing in the opening sequence rebuilding, and his wife and son with him, rather than apart from him which is I guess maybe why their marriage was struggling with him being busy all time.
The message then would be really positive. He’s fought for his family and despite the world ending he’s still got them and they’re with him and making the world again for his son.
Instead we got a few tweety birds.
