A 2015 Active Tourer 225i Drive.
In a 'norma'l world I would just replace all four tyres together but will it be OK to leave the oem summer Bridgestone run flats on the rear wheels and put Bridgestone All Season run flats on the front only ? I will do the rears later in the year.
Cheers
Brian.

That would increase the breaking ability on the front because they are all season and new. The result increased chance of a spin under heavy braking.

Now I have said that it, you are going to get a hole load of people posting 'It's total nonsense that you should alway put new tyres on the rear', now you can listen to them or follow the advice of the AA/RAC any as far as I know any other tyre professional, but guess what, I would follow the professionals, unless I had 4wd or a staggered wheel configuration.

It's rear-bias braking that results in spinning. We who play with old cars without front brakes know it well!

OK, an update on this.
I have now decided to simply fit normal All Season tyres to all four wheels at the same time. It appears that 205/55/17 All Season Run Flats are somewhat rare !
Normal tyres will mean getting a space saver to chuck in the boot but that's OK.
If anyone has replaced run flats with normal tyres it would be interesting to hear what you found re' comfort/drive etc.
Cheers
Brian.

I have winter non run-flats and run-flat summer's tyres I on my BMW and I have a pump and a foam spray can (inline with what BMW would supply). I have breakdown cover with my insurance, so realisticaslly this would be my first option if I had a flat.

The ride is much less jolty and the breaking distances better, all in all better.
