Has anyone purchased one of these. If so how well do they fit and were you pleased with the end product.

Yes, perfectly, and fairly. They chip very, very easily though.

Far better to buy a cheap version off eBay IMHO.

I agree, the chipping annoyed me, I wouldn't bother again.

£2.50 eBay special. Why pay more?

Thanks for the responses. I have been looking at the ebay ones but my GTS 4.0 is Gentian and I can't find a cheapie in that colour.

Yeah, you'll struggle with some colours. I couldn't get a decent carrera white and the yellow ones are often metallic.

They're cheap enough to grab a few to try out though, or get something contrasting instead.

When you say they chip very, very easily, is that just through inserting the key in the ignition or is it from accidentally dropping your keys.

Both! Also from rattling against other things in your pocket, dropping onto tables etc.

The cheap one I had actually seemed more chip resistant than the genuine Porsche one...

Thanks, I really appreciate your experience as £75 is a bit of an outlay for the OEM version if it doesn't deliver

No problem at all. It's just the nature of the beast that they chip unfortunately.

Why don’t you send it to Topaz and have PPF applied? laugh

Daft as that sounds on paper.. I was watching a YouTube detailing vid recently going over some of the PPF film, I think it's the 'Xpel' brand which seems quite popular, and they do lots of mini kits for wrapping everything - touchscreen displays, piano black dashboard panels.. Then obviously there's phone screen kits etc so I imagine you could get a small kit and wrap the painted key..

Bit of a faff maybe but if you've paid ~£75 to have it painted I guess it makes sense to protect it..

Are they available in Sapphire Blue Metallic as it's almost the same. The snide ones I mean ?

There is "blue metallic" which looks similar to sapphire blue. May well give one of those a go for the sake of just shy of £10.

I got two of the cheap ones off ebay. One in miami blue to match colour of my car and the other in yellow to match my seat belts. Think they were about £14 each but very easy to fit and they look just as good as the official Porsche ones which are bloody expensive!

I bought a couple off amazon 5 years ago because the original key was starting to look tatty. 5 years latter and the only thing looking new is the cheap plastic covers. I had to replace the button cover as well as that wore out. The cheap amazon replacement has stood the test of time as well.

I my key covers painted and lacquered when my car was in the bodyshop getting the stone chips done around the front end.

Its only been a few months but no sign of any chips yet.

Yes, I bought exactly the same ones off Amazon, and I bought two. My car came with the original Porsche painted ones, that were badly chipped on the main key. My car is yellow, and the key covers from Amazon are just a slightly different shade, but hardly noticeable. Mine are still like new after four years, unlike the original Porsche option! They fit perfectly too!

Many thanks for the link and also to everyone for their input. I think I will go with the ebay one although I think the colour is going to be way off.
Twinfan's suggestion of a contrasting colour is a good call, however I have the crayon interior GTS pack so white seems to be the closest. I don't want a carbon finish as I prefer some colour on the key.
