DHL 757-200 cargo door opened in flight.
Discussion
Another of those incidents that I’m glad to be nowhere near. Nobody hurt, no cargo lost.

The 757 was not originally designed as a freighter. Therefore, cutting a large hole in the fuselage to accommodate the freight door means that, once the door is open, the fuselage is substantially weakened. Because of this, there are strict limits on the circumstances in which the door can be opened - such as restrictions on moving the aircraft on the ground, the speed at which it can be towed etc.
There is a strong possibility that the door opening in flight could have significantly damaged the fuselage structure.
