AMI III infotainment unit reset

I have a Dec 2017 Rapide S with AMI III infotainment fitted.
I generally use Apple Car Play by default in the car and it has been working flawlessly until recently.

Recently the system has crashed a few times and started becoming glitchy.
Is there anyway of doing a reset (usually by way of holding down some combination of buttons?) to force the system to reboot and maybe address the issue?

When my Vantage was in for service the dealer did a software update as mine kept on re booting . Been fine since ( although not driven much 😷)

do you have AMI III system? I'll check what software version mine is as not sure whether it has the latest version or not.
I bought the car from AM Works in August last year so would hope it has the latest version already installed!

Anyone know what the latest software version is for AMI iii?
Dealer claimed they updated firmware to fix periodic crashes but when I got it back the firmware version was the same as when it went in!!

Mine currently says:
App 3.1.8
Base 1.107
Bluetooth 106A.D350
Nav map AML1604pEUR1

I tend to use Apple CarPlay all the time so not sure if AMI iii doesn’t like it? Would be surprised if it’s anything to do with that though.

Just had an AM technician come to my house to install very latest version which apparently addresses the system crash issue and other bug fixes.

it now says

App 3.1.12
Base 1.108

Bluetooth and Navmap versions unchanged.

Update took around 1 minute by plugging a USB stick into centre consol binnacle.
These updates should really be made available online so that owners can check to see if their car has the latest firmware.
Would be incredibly easy for owners to download updates onto a USB stick and do the update themselves without inconvenience of a trip to the dealer.

Excellent, thank you! You've beaten me by half a day, getting my cars updated tomorrow AM to the "latest version" so was going to update you here and my original AMi III thread after that anyway.

I think a company called Skyships Automotive make the AMI3 system for Aston Martin, so would guess they are they ones writing the code for each firmware update? Looked on their website but couldnt find anything listing release history of updates but maybe im looking in the wrong place.

I guess other than introducing Carplay a few years ago there hasnt been any new feature releases in AMI 3, so all the updates must just be bug fixes, such as the crashing issue I experienced.

Guess they will stop updating it soon as a pretty old system now?

Ohh thats interesting info about Skyships Automotive, I will add to the AMi III thread!

There was also the additon of Andriod Auto which came slightly after Apple Carplay. See my thread linked above for a bit of a history of versions. I will update with the info here tomorrow once my cars have been updated so I can test and demo it personally before I post.
