993 Rear Brake Pad Query
Discussion
I’ve bought new rear disks, pads, anti-squeal reducers and sensor wires to fit to the rear of my 993 Carrera 4S.
When I have taken the old pads out the anti-squeal reducers are missing.
see http://p-car.com/diy/brakepads/ray/squealpad.JPG
Instead someone has just covered the back of the pad with grease.
Is it common to junk these? Is it best practise to replace with new ones when replacing the pads?
Also discovered my rear handbrake shoes need replacing :-(

Looks similar to my 993TT, since i was always changing pads, i did not bother with the wires and tie wrapped them out of the way.
New pads have a bonded heat plate on the back and the caliper pistons have the little top hat anti squeel which i believe bond themselves to the heat plate in use.
Ideally you should replace the lot but i used to just replace the pads and smear the back of the new pads with anti scuffing graphite paste.
Hope this helps
