This is very nice. And yes, I think I would. The quality just looks superb.

Haven´t had this much fun in watching a Bamford Rose video in a long time. Lots and lots of technics to see and positively non-controversial in every way. Well done, Mike.
Interesting to see at 13:27 min. the really shocking state of the rear subframe. Perhaps there had been the question if that could be saved at all?
I´m intrigued about the "4.3" on the inlet manifold after the 4.7 displacement.
Great that the owner decided to keep the overall original brightwork look of the car. So elegant and good looking. Perhaps he would like to comment on the whole journey?

I love it. I’ve gone a little way of the journey, with lots of bits resprayed by BR, interior tidying up, and manifold/cats/clutch.
The video is brilliant, and won’t just feel like a refreshed car, but a completely upgraded one.
The subframe looks really bad, but suspect that it was just nasty looking surface rust/flaking paint.
Would love to hear from the owner!

That is a lot of money to sink into it - he is right - you would have to really love it to persuade me to do that versus trading it. I also wonder what happened to the interior - after 180k miles it must have been getting tired in the seating and pedal departments.
Maybe milage is not correct and the car has been clocked.RMDB9 said:

"Overclocking" it would be a very odd thing to do just to get kudos: "I've got the highest mileage Vantage in the world" or whatever. If you watch the video it says that the car is one owner from new and it is that one owner who has done all the miles and spent all the money getting it restored/enhanced.
Mines done 41,844 miles. Do you not believe me either?
These cars were built and tested to Ford durability standards, and the standard engine is lightly stressed. I would assume the engine would be ok for 500k miles without a rebuild, and likely just the ancillaries that will fail along the way.
When you think about how much that Vantage was worth trade in, and the cost difference to buy one of the last gen 1 Vantages or upgrade to a V12, then the upgrades make perfect sense if you want to keep the car known to you, you basically get a refreshed car with GT4 like performance.
Replacing some worn trim or seats later is always an option....you wont have the latest dash or gizmos if that is important to you, I guess the owner isnt one of those who is concerned about the Volvo sat nav but more interested in how the car drives

Yes, they were, and I wouldn't be in the least surprised to hear it was running well. But there aren't many that have covered major miles, so it would be interesting to know. And since the engine was torn down, I wonder if they took any measurements to see how much wear there was. By the way, some of those Ford durability tests are truly brutal.Yes it would be interesting if BR shared the engine condition notes. When you think about the lifetime of a modern car engine, most are scrapped/broken for parts long before the engines are ever "worn out". .
It will be nice this refreshed Vantage still in use in another 10 or 20 years time...if ICE cars are not banned of the roads by then ........
