991.2 GT3 Noise Question with Video
Discussion
Sorry in advance I did search PH and other forums for answer but best way is I guess asking direct as didn't really find what I was after.
As I've purchased a 991.2 GT3 during lockdown a few weeks back and I wasn't able to test drive it and I couldn't venture out and see many others this is why I pose the question as I can't walk into a dealership or INDY and ask outright. Therefore asking you guys with experience to either a.) put my mind at rest or b.) let me panic.
Due to 'CLICK AND COLLECT' I'm covered for a period should I wish to return the car, I've also warranty on the car etc but I'm sure it's perfectly normal... I hope.
In effect when the car starts it's fairly quiet - once it's warmed you hear a rattle both sides of the rear.
The noise can't be heard inside the car with windows up on idle and is definitely coming from the rear between the rear wheels about exhaust height up.
You can hear it inside car on idle with window down however once you go over 10mph, on the move you can't hear it at all.
Performance of the car seems fine, no warning lights on dash, oil pressure seems fine it's under 2 bar on idle and raises to around 3 bar with rev's and on the move it's usually around 4 - 4.4bar on a average drive of mixed driving.
I've done searches and all I keep finding is generally people saying it's normal and references such as;
"I am not talking about the "nuts and bolts in a can" or cement-mixer sound at idle, I am used to this and understand that this is perfectly normal, and I am comfortable with it too. All a part of it being a race-car, I was told when I bought it."
or
"Welcome to the world of driving a coffee grinder"
On one of the other Porsche forums lots of dealerships have gone back and told people it's normal etc, but I thought who better to ask than you guys.
The video actually amplifies the noise it's actually more loud than it actually seems and the burble of the exhaust comes across less noisy so gives a good indication regardless to the noise in question. Going inside the car and closing the door also shows how that noise vanishes.
Anyway. Video below of said noise for opinion please.

Sounds quite normal to me, I had a side muffler go on mine with around 4k on the clock and was hard to trace as Porsche had never had one let go , they renewed under warranty. As I've purchased a 991.2 GT3 during lockdown a few weeks back and I wasn't able to test drive it and I couldn't venture out and see many others this is why I pose the question as I can't walk into a dealership or INDY and ask outright. Thanks!
Speaking to a few previous owners the general consensus is they sound pretty meh under 3,000rpm - hence I'll probably go JCR exhaust route and remove some of the silencers or at the least have it so it's irrelevant of valves open or closed.
The warranty isn't with Porsche as bought from an INDY so it's there 6 month warranty as such I can't take it to get warranty from Porsche till 1st week of May (V5 in name for 90 days rule) for another 111 point check to see if I can take warranty with them out.
My concern was more whether they'll flag exhaust issue or some fault which is 'wear and tear' item and possibly high cost. I will take it I think to a local INDY for peace of mine and pay them for an hour inspection to listen to noise and put my mind at rest, seeing as they also have 3 GT3's in stock they might even not need to do that and just start one of those up and say "look its normal".

I have just renewed my warranty, you don't need a 111 point check any more although that might be different if your porsche warranty expired and wasnt renewed with porsche.Speaking to a few previous owners the general consensus is they sound pretty meh under 3,000rpm - hence I'll probably go JCR exhaust route and remove some of the silencers or at the least have it so it's irrelevant of valves open or closed.

Car sounds fine as the others have said, the daft noises are all part of the experience supposedly.
