I just bought an iPhone XS from eBay for £225 as I fancied a change and it was a very good price. The battery health is at 84% and it has had 626 charge cycles, so the battery is near the end of it’s life really. Am I likely to notice much difference if I send it into Apple for a new battery? It currently seems to drain reasonably fast, but I have only had it for less than a day and did an update during that time.
Has anyone here had a new battery in their iPhones? If so, was it a big difference?

I recently got one fitted at Apple as mine was 86% or so and the new one is great. Think it was only about £50* too

* iPhone 8S

Do you notice much of a difference between the new and old? Thanks

I have recently replaced the batteries on my trusty 6, and my daughters 7. I used the tools, batteries and instructional videos from iFixit. I did originally try to pay Apple to do it, but they declined due to minor damage to my casing and being uncertain that they could do the job without breakage.

Very happy with the results, my battery now lasts 3 or 4 times as long.

The waterproof phones (7 on) are a little harder, as you need heat to soften the screen adhesive before removal. A hot water bottle and a little patience did the trick nicely.

Martin.

I’ve replaced the battery on older iPhones, but on the X and newer, Apple shut down parts of the settings if you DIY it. So I think for the £69 price, I may be best just to pay Apple to do it. Hopefully it’ll make a good difference to the battery life

I have an iPhone X, which I bought when it was launched and for the last few months I've had the battery service message despite capacity still being at 91% - apparently it's ability to deliver enough power to support peak performance is the issue so I may get it replaced by Apple although with stores closed this requires sending it away. This is the first time I've had an iPhone for longer than a year (3.5 years) and it does everything I want it to so may as well get the replace the battery and see what the iPhone 13 looks like....

This is my first time using an iPhone newer than the 7 and so far so good! Think I will get the battery changed.
