I have a rather silly problem with the LCD display. Horizontal lines do not show sometimes.... I'm no expert but my gut feel is that there is some damp in the works as the problem goes away and then comes back again with even more lines out.

Anyone had similar problem or ideas of how to fix it?

Thanks

David

yeah, same problem started about a month ago with me. Fine then I'll have a day of "lines". Next week fine again. No doubt it'd need a remortgage to fix so haven't looked into it!

It's a common thing that gets gradually worse until you can't read the screen. I had mine fixed free last year by the factory, but I think it should have been about £300. They replaced one of the boards in the dash unit.

This is exactly what happened with mine and it does get worse. Mine eventually gave up the ghost 2 months ago. I got Offord Motor Company (Local Indie) to fix mine. £190 and all is well with the world. They dont need to send it back to the factory now. Good Luck

Cheers guys.

It'll get worse then? B**ger!

I could take the thing out myself and solder a new display in but getting these things apart is a nightmare.

I'll ignore it for now, at least I know what the cost might be. I can add that to the list of things that need fixing with the clutch hydrawlics and the diff mounts and the rear wheell balance and the .......

You get the picture, a little P*ssed with it today and I'm skint!

I need beer.

Thanks to everyone for their help.

I had a classic with the display - just stopped working!! Was completely dead, then on fine, then dead - but the warning sounds were fine.

Had a road angel so wasn't too worried about lack of speedo (hey, it's useless in bright whether anyway) but then twigged that I had no idea how much fuel was left.

Anyway, think it's a loose connection as a good whack and it's been fine for weeks - I'd been bouncing around the cotswolds on the day it went dodgy so I suspect it's related to that.
