So I have quite a few scanned handwritten old docs various formats in different languages mostly English, German-various scripts, Russian, Czech and Latvian.
I would like to, for instance, mouse-over the doc and it would show the handwritten text as typed text in the original language AND if I do something else which would show the translation into English.
Is there something available that would do this or nearly similar?
It's for my family history website.

It’s called optical character recognition. Can’t recommend any software for your requirements’ but I use Google Keep OCR function on my phone occasionally. But that’s been discontinued.

Download the Google Translate app on your phone.

It'll translate the text that the camera is pointed at (having selected the appropriate language); I can't remember if it provides a text output also.

I tend to scan a document and then open the .pdf with Word and then use Google translate. MS translate within Word is next to useless.

This is only using typed documents between French, Spanish and English. The results are good enough to get the gist of the text, but in terms of a perfect translation, it leaves a lot to be desired, especially with technical, legal or medical documents.

To further complicate by scanning handwritten documents and expect something good, seems like a giant extra step.

This. It was always pretty good, but with the last major update it really is a great solution. Having moved to a country where forms, documents and letters can be in one of three other languages, it I can honestly say it's been a lifesaver!

You can do 'live' translation when it'll overlay a basic English (or whatever) translation over the camera video, but this often doesn't do much contextual analysis so can be a bit rough. Good enough for short phrases, menus etc. though.

For a better translation you take a photo and can highlight some/all of the text. The quality of translation then is usually much better, and you can copy the text out and paste it into an email, document etc.

Cloud service, you are the product, Google sees everything you convert etc., but this really is one of Google's better products and would be worth paying for if it wasn't 'free'.

I'm sorry but I obviously didn't make myself very clear.
I already have done the modern transliterations and the translations. I want some way of making them appear/go away. I know that for just two alternatives you can use a "rollover" to make something else appear but I am looking to provide different two "rollovers" on one graphic.
Is that possible?

Ah so you just want to program tooltips?
That will be a feature of the website software you use.

This sounds like something I have wanted to do in the past, we have some hand written poems from a while ago that can be difficult to read and something like you suggest would make them 'accessable' to many more family members.
