7.30 tonight on ITV. Don't imagine it will reveal much that we don't know already.... but might be worth a look..!

At least they've got a presenter who has some idea and doesn't just go for the sensationalist angle. On previous editions the comparisons of people trying to do normal journey has been interesting.

I have set up to record, but suspect that it will skirt over the key issues.

ICE cars will probably be cheap as they are dumped during the Autumn of 2029.
Hence fewer people are likely to be seeking to buy new in 2030
Early adapters will already have one.
Buyers might see that buying a Hybrid is a good compromise for people who have range anxiety
People may tend to swap cars less often - older ICEs might actually appreciate due to increased demand.

In terms of immediately reducing CO2 emissions, the impact is likely to be quite small. Having a short-range city EV and a long-range older cruiser might become a normal preference. Prohibiting any ICEs from entering city centres might have bern a smarter strategy if reducing pollution is the primary objective.

A very light ITV attempt to start the debate, said nothing new, or enlightening.
