Any suggestions on how to fix the damage to my glovebox (cars 2 months old!)

A nice gouge from my drill frown

I’ve seen people recommend black pen and rub with a screwdriver handle, lighter, and a hairdryer and trim tool. But is there a better way or what way out of them is best.

I did contact the dealer to get a price expecting around the £150 mark for a new glovebox door and it’s come in at £290 which just seems crazy for a plastic door.

Nope, you're not fixing that. Get a new one. Maybe eBay?

I've seen a smart repairer sort similar. Basically they take a latex mould of the pattern from elsewhere on that glovebox panel & then fill the damage. I've seen it done for phone cradle removal etc when there's screwholes to backfill. (Debbie does Dashes was her company name lol)

^^^This.
Certainly worth a try.
They will paint the lid once the repair is done.
No idea as to cost but a lot less than a replacement!

Shame about the damage.

But do tell what you were drilling!

Nothing exciting in the boot everything goes flying so put drill in a bag and in the footwell it pierced the bag and a nice PZ2 decided to gouge the glovebox frown

It’s a 2021 model so nothing has yet made it onto eBay.

I have seen plenty of classic Range Rovers that have had their plastic dashboard sorted so someone must be able to sort that out.

Try phoning the dealer. They may have or be able to get a new glove box for you.

In exchange of 290 £ apparently... not sure I'd part with them for it.

How long are you planning to keep the car? If you want to return the car after leasing it then wait until a few months before the car needs to go back and find a glovebox door off a scrap car. If planning to keep the car forever, just don't bother, but if it bothers you then get a black sharpie and colour it in. That's what I'd do, it's up to you how you handle it

Yep GR Yaris although it is a standard Yaris glove box apparently but as the cars a new redesign I doubt a breakers yard will have any yet. eBay seems to draw a blank.

If I have to stump up £290 then so be it but I’d hoped I may be able to avoid that.

If these cars are ripe for modifications like most jap cars are , glove boxes will become available on ebay etc.
At £290 for a new one I would just wait it out. Put an alert for the part number on ebay and google.

Or go hunt down Tommy makkinen and get him to sign the glove box with a large sharpie idea
