I’ve got two CTEK XS 3600 chargers and have noticed that one of them has stopped showing battery status. The charging mode lights still show, but not the ones that show how charged the battery is.

Can I assume that it will carry on charging? The car is parked up long term and it will always be connected for long enough to fully charge... if it is working.

I would have thought that if the battery status lights aren’t illuminated then it is not registering the battery so will not charge it.

Check the cables & connectors from the charger to the battery.
It may be that you have a loose or broken wire - I've had this on one of my CTEKs where the cable into one of the croc clips was broken, which was the cause of no status lights illuminating.

Hmm maybe time to replace. I noticed that the second one is also a bit iffy too.

They have a smart charging feature so I can’t just stick an ammeter on them.

I’ve noticed that the second one, when fully disconnected, actually shows a charging status light. It seems to flip between partially and fully charged with no battery connected.

Making me think that there is an issue with the first unit, which does not do the same thing.

Get in contact with CTEK customer services. When I had a query, I emailed them, and they were were quick and helpful in their reply.

Measure the battery voltage. If it's over 13V it's probably charging - if it's under, it probably isn't.

Funnily enough I did just that. No change...

I’ve ordered a CTEK ‘Time to go’ replacement for around £80. I do think they are a little overpriced, but then again the last one was good for over 10 years and all the cars are wired with CTEK connectors.

I tried and got no luck. I can imagine their business has exploded over the last 12 months.
