Mac / Apple IDs - adding work ID to 'family sharing'??

I have two Apple IDs, one for work and one for personal. I have a piece of software that would be useful to both, and ideally i would want to purchase it once only, but use it across both machines/IDs. I don't think my work would be prepared to pay for it. The only way that I can see to share the purchase across IDs is to use 'family sharing', by adding my work ID to my 'family'.

In theory that has no downsides, but is that actually the case? I don't really like anything that results in excessive or unexpected blending of work and personal sides of my life. Just need to know what I'd be signing up to if I did this e.g. consenting to access of data or whatever.

Any ideas?
