5 Series G30 - iDrive7/iPod problem.

I have an iPod which works fine in my 5 Series G30. After the car has been turned off and the USB sockets have powered down, when I turn the ignition on the iPod powers up OK, but it is no longer available as an option via the MODE button. If I unplug the USB lead and plug it back in, the iPod reappears as a MODE option.

Does anyone know why this is happening and if there’s a fix?

Before I parted with my G20 there was a similar issue. I reset the iDrive by pressing down and holding the volume button for a minute. It fixed things for a month. The issue returned and the dealership applied a software update. No problems since.
