The walnut panel around the gearknob on my Aston DB7 could do with re-lacquering as there is a crack in the existing lacquer.

I could do it myself but I would really like a professional finish.

Does anyone have any recommendations? And some idea of potential cost?

Many thanks

I used Lee Oliver at L&S Veneering for my TVR. Pictures on an old thread of mine but he did a fantastic job.

I just sent the centre console and gear selector trim in my Range Rover Classic off to be done. Got quoted £130 by Chapman and Cliff. Can’t comment on the work till I get it back.

There was an ex-Rolls Royce guy on the Facebook DB7 Vantage page advertising is services. Also been told Chiltern can repair them too.

Chapman and Cliff do very good work. They did my Stag dash. Very pleased with it.

I used a firm called London Carriage Craft, (I think?) on a TVR I had years ago and was very happy with the cost and the quality of the work.

I ended up finding out the professional process and attempting it myself.

I worked out perfectly and it was very satisfying to have done the job myself. I rubbed down the existing lacquer until I had a good surface, then built up maybe 10 thin layers of lacquer. 1000,2000, 3000 then 5000 grade wet sanding paper with soapy water took some time to do. Followed by cutting polish then normal polish (autoglym).
