Adult Careers advice service - Mid Life career change

Is there such a think as adult careers advice?

I'm rapidly approaching 40 and would like to change my career as my current job is too physical and I don't want to do it for the rest of my life. I have worked for myself and ran a small business now for on and off 15 years. (Apprenticeship)

I have time to be able to distance learning, I did attempt a degree twice but never got on with it as I wanted to work. So the opportunity of an Open University Degree is possible.

However is there someone you can speak to to advise, as quite simply I am not sure what exactly what I want to do. I have ideas but not sure on the feasibility on getting into the industries because of my age and also best routes into those industries.
