I have a problem I think. 400 miles ago occassionally the car, when turning sharply would amke a weird noise sounds like a deep vibrating sound from the front of the car behind the dash. Mine was the exhaust rubbing on the chassis, it made a soynd like a low graunch if you turned tighter it went away, on sweeping bends you could really notice it bad.
Revving the engine flexes the exhaust and it rubs away on the chassis
mine was fixed by a bracket to move it awayfrom the chassis, althouhg other people swear by a crowbar and bend it out of the way gently - technique !

Thats my guess as well, especially if it only occurs when turning in one direction.jeremyc said:

happened to mine once too! I'd also check the oil level as Kojak says, but I think that was more of a "moaning" noise Jools said

I get a single knock 20 secs after startup which is the exhaust expanding as it warms up but nothing after that so it must run fairly close to the chassis.
The tunnels.
The ones just off the Tyne Bridge are fun but too short. The Tyne tunnel is good but best get there late at night when its empty. The pedestrian tunnel is amazing but you can take the cerb in there

The vibrating whist turning problem is worse. Far worse. Louder, stronger, even when turning less-tight corners. (to begin with it was an almost undetectable noise only occuring on the sharpest of corners)
The oil is ok. Might it be worth mentioning that 1000 miles ago I had new front tyres fitted?
Are all your wheel nuts tight? Stupid question I know but I had checked one of the previous cars for a trip to Inverness. Next morning I set off and when I arrived there was a faint knocking when turning. It got worse and we thought the CV joint was on it's way out. We went to take off the wheel to try and get a closer look and found it was only held on by the lock nut. Every other nut was loose to the touch. Every wheel the same. Some tosser had tried to have them off the night before I set off.
