Oh dear, knocking noise on rear left of my S2, found play on the left driveshaft, think its my CV joints, I think they are off of a Sierra, is this true and has any one ever changed theirs. The bible explains how to do it and it seems simple enough.

You know, it's extraordinarily difficult to access a thread when the title is blank!

Steve

The part no's are on the s parts list I believe.

Had mine done last year - biggest potential problem is removing the torx bolts without damaging the bolts or torx drive bits.

Suggest you do both sides while you're there - or short term fix would be to remove and replace gaiters and re-pack with fresh grease.

Good luck

Steve,

They are very straightforward to change.

I renewed all four last year on mine, for about £100 total (exchange units).

With the correct Torx fitting, the bolts were not a problem to remove.

Sorry I can't remeber which vehicle they were listed for but it would have been either Sierra or Granada. IIRC it was Granada MK1.

Once they are all replaced, the take up on pull away and gearchange is sooo much better as there i much les play in the joints.
