Transport for cadet karting

Have just purchased a Honda Cadet Kart for 8 year old son who is getting into motorsport, currently waiting delivery but now pondering what to do regards transporting to the track which is around an hour away.

My wife currently has a Golf SV which is the plan for the first few sessions but this leaves her without a car for the day / half a day. My car won't take it and won't be able to tow a trailer, further to this she can't drive my car as it's a manual and she's auto only. Have been going round in circles of looking at vans and MPVs as a third vehicle.

I'm leaning towards a larger mpv - galaxy / Alhambra etc, as I think (maybe wrongly) that I can get the kart in with the middle row of seats still up which makes arrangements more flexible. Something smaller like a touran / Smax I imagine the middle row will have to go down as well?

Just wondering if anyone else transports a cadet and how they do so? If he starts racing at some point then that may facilitate a larger vehicle, however, for now, we're just going to practice and try and improve times, so a kart, trolley and some other smaller bits.

Also can't decide whether just to get a shed (£1 - 2k) or to spend a bit more on something newer (say £5kish) - how wrecked is it likely to get in the back transporting kit?

Volvo estates were popular when I used to do pro-karts...

Only 2 usable seats though.

Thanks, I did think about a V90 as there are a couple of cheaper high mileage ones around but as you say it’s still two seats. A pro kart would be a fair bit bigger than a cadet I suppose.
