My son’s first word was car, my daughter’s dad. What’s the longest first word of anyone’s kids on here.

I bet it won’t beat crocodile...

Fuccsake. When I dropped her coat. 12 years on and I haven’t heard her swear since....
I look forward to her first profanity.

Starfish!

We had a load of plastic sea creatures for bath time, so I would go thru them all naming them.

A friend of my sisters didn't speak a word until she was over four years old, then it was full and coherent sentences.

My three year old will hear a loud car drive past and go, 'Chavvy car!'. I've yet to explain the difference between a nice sounding V8 and a four cylinder turbo with a f*rty remap! haha

Indignant mother holding the baby greets father upon his return from work,

"Baby said is first word today..."

"...and he certainly didn't learn it from me!"

I like the (unlikely) story about Einstein that he didn't speak at all until he was four, then suddenly announced 'this soup is too hot'.
Asked why he'd never spoken before he replied 'everything was in order before.'

I prefer the German baby version! biggrin

A British couple decided to adopt a German baby. They raised him for years, however they began to get worried because he never spoke, and they believed that he was mentally handicapped, going as far as to take him to therapy, which was fruitless. Then, when the child was 8 years old, he had a Strudle, and said "It is a little tepid."

His parents, of course shocked that he was suddenly speaking, asked: "Wolfgang, why have you never spoken before?", to which the child replied: "Up until now, everything had been satisfactory."

My mum insists that the first thing I said after "mama" and "dada" was "sauce dispenser". This was back in the late '50s, when ketchup in a cafe was in those pump-top bottles with a layer of congealed sauce on the nozzle.
