Can one cause an engine to lug with a tiptronic (e.g. cruising at a low rpm with a high gear)?

Well, yes and no. YOu an certainly find yourself crawling along in top - but if you stick the right foot down, the tip changes gear anyway, so yes and no..

Not sure what you mean. The tip has a ( computer) mind of its own and in auto mode will change up to the highest gear it can ,will also change down at preset rpm or road speed . You can always manually select if you want of course.

My experience is that the computer will shift down one gear or two for you 90% of the time when you step on the gas. However, it seems that there is still 10% of the time where the gear will, for example, stay with 4th when you press the gas and the car accelerates slowly. Will this be similar to a lugging situation.
