Over revving usually happens when you shift down (usually in a manual), not up. Hitting the rev limiter before shifting up is a completely different thing and is exactly why the rev limiter is there.
I was always under the impression that any auto will have the fail safe of not enabling a down change if it results in an over rev. So one of the advantages of the Tip is it almost can't be over revved
