A very long time ago, I watched a film late at night on Channel 4.
It was very funny in places so can anyone identify it from the following...

It was set in the 70s and some of the action took place near a sunny seafront area.

It featured a sort of 2CV jeep thingy.

The male lead might have been Jean Paul Belmondo. It was dubbed into English.

Memorable events...

JPB (or whoever) was being chased and ran through an operating room. He caught the
operating table's pedal with his foot and the patient was slammed against the wall,
to slide down, leaving a long smear of blood.

JPB stole a hearse with a coffin in to escape. Stopping hard at some lights caused the
body in the coffin the slide forward, breaking the foot end of the coffin open. The dead man's
feet ended up pressing on the inside of the windscreen.

JPB was in a big garage, hiding on top of a motorhome or caravan. The baddies came in and switched
on the lights. JPB somehow fell into a bath and we saw the word 'Mazda' had been branded on his arse.

As I said, funny stuff and I'd love to see it again.

Can’t help with that one here is his filmography:
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000901/?ref_=nv_sr_sr...

Try watching this French film with Terry Thomas, the top ranking French Second World War Film, very funny.

Thanks, Gnevans,

I'm chasing that one too...I recognise the middle aged lead Frenchman.

Might be worth looking at the movies of Louis de Funès.

Thanks, Scrump,

A Citroen Mehari appeared in 303 films according
to The Internet Movie Cars Database.

Looks like my work's cut out here!

Donkeys! It looks very like it may be L'emmerdeur. I'll report.

Well, I just looked at the film trailer and the lead Lino Ventura looked
familiar and so did the locations and style, Perhaps the bits I described were
not in the trail.
