Rejuvenating knackered rubber seals
Discussion
I am struggling to source rubber weather seals for a car I'm doing some light restoration on. The car is 16 years old so we're not talking rubber that is crumbling to dust, but the seals have deformed where they've been compressed against doors, and there is the beginnings of perishing.
If I don't have any luck with replacements, I'm contemplating the best way to rejuvenate them. I've used gummi pfledge on rubber seals before but I think we're beyond that.
Is there something that I can soak the mouldings in to condition and "replump" them?

a good clean down then treat with rubber treatment like gummi pledge is about as good as it will get...it wont make them plump up like new , nothing will

This is good stuff, it needs a few goes but really works. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gummi-Pflege-Rubber-Stick...
I rejuvenated the seals on a 20 y/o merc soft top. They no longer leak or squeak. A annu annual application keeps everything in order.

Make and model?
MG TF - as a 2004 it was built before Rover went under rather than one of the later Chinese cars. That probably makes no odds to what the seals are made of but just in case.Gassing Station | Bodywork & Detailing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
