S2 injectors

hiya im new here and quite new to porsche ownership.
has anyone had problems with noisy injectors in there 944 s2?
mine are making a sort of tapping/ticking noise that is v annoying.
if so whats the best (most cost effective way) to fix?

ive used injector cleaner and always run the car on optimax.

The injectors on mine are quite noisy, as long as they all make the same noise at the same frequency I'd say they should be OK, it's just the noise they make opening and closing. If they were gummed up they'd be quieter if anything, as they wouldn't be opening / closing properly.

oh right. i really dont think they should be that noisy, mine are quite loud and can be heard if in car with window down are yours that bad?

The black plastic shroud that covers the injectors is there to drown out the noise. They are low impedence injectors and always sound loud to the point where they can sound like a rattley set of tappets, especially on idle.

My engine used to make a horrible tappetty sound whn it was cold.. i thought it was the injectors... turned out to be a sh4gged head! had to have my engine rebuilt..

its defiantly injector noise. but is also due a rebuild as getting smoke at high revs, just wanted to sort the injectors before i look at the rebuild.
