Good morning

I need help with buying the correct type of engine oil for my car. Should I buy A3 or A5? I have Suzuki Alto 2010, 1.0L.

I am very confused as Oils come in different grading like C1,C2,C3, A3/B3 etc.

Thank you for your time and reply.

Are you topping up or changing?

if changing pretty much any 10w40 you can buy will be fine for it.

if you want to treat it get some 5w/30 fully synthetic which can be surprisingly cheap, around £20 to £25 for 4 or 5 litres.

I am changing. Any 5w30 fully synthetic will do? Or do i need to look for grading as well like A3, A5 etc.

The grading is pretty irrelevant. You really can’t go wrong with any 5w/30. It will be way over spec. Suzuki main dealers sell Petronas branded oil and its good value too. You can get it from pretty much everywhere.

This one is 5w30, fully synthetic, cheap but may be not very known brand. Is it ok to get this one?

The API SL means it’s a pretty modern formulation and says fully synthetic so all good.

The only risk is if it’s maybe a knockoff or old stock with an unknown brand but it will probably be fine.
