Former French President Nicholas Sarkozy found guilty of corruption, influence peddling and bribery in court today in France

Some of it relates to him taking money from Libya and Gadaffi

Sentenced to three years imprisonment

When you open the main news page it is in a pop up as breaking news.
And an article was pasted a minute or so ago.

How fast do you want them to be?

It is unlikely the former president will spend a day in jail. The one year prison sentence can be served with certain conditions, including the wearing of an electronic bracelet, or limited home confinement.

Well, at the time I read this article on here - then checked online, the Mirror, Telegraph and the Sun had had the story online for about 11 mins.

So a tad quicker from the pre-eminent news source, perhaps?

I wonder how many French folk are in prison for far less serious offences.

Trump next, then hopefully Johnson and Hancock for their rampant corruption over PPE purchasing.

Not holding my breath though.

I suspect those 3 probably had a single source and were happy to run on that alone.

The BBC, being a pre-eminent news source, possibly wanted a second or third before publishing.
